Format

  1. Players are split up into 4 groups.
  2. Within each group, players play each other in a match over 2 games (first to 11).
  3. 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw.
  4. The top 2 in each group go through to the quarter finals.
  5. In the event of a tie for one or more positions in the group stages, the following will be used (in order) to determine placings:
    1. The highest number of points gained in match or matches involving tied players.
    2. The highest winning margin (i.e. goal difference) in match or matches involving tied players.
    3. The highest winning margin (i.e. goal difference) in all group matches.
    4. "Eliminator".
  6. The quarter finals are played over 1 game (first to 15).
  7. The losing quarter finalists will play an "Eliminator" to determine 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th place.
  8. The winning quarter finalists will progress to the semi finals which will be played over 1 game (first to 21).
  9. The losing semi finalists will play in a 3rd place play-off which will be played over 1 game (first to 21).
  10. The winning semi finalists will progress to the final which will be played over 3 games (first to 21).

Game Rules

  1. Players play for serve in all games by throwing the ball over the next and making sure 3 shots pass over the net before play begins.
  2. The following number of consecutive serves are allowed:
    1. First to 11 - 2 serves.
    2. First to 15 - 3 serves.
    3. First to 21 - 5 serves.
  3. Players must win by 2 clear points, once 10-10 (or 14-14 or 20-20) has been reached, only one serve each is then allowed.
  4. Serves can be diagonal or sraight, on any side of the table.

Points Scoring

  1. 1st - 10 points
  2. 2nd - 8 points
  3. 3rd - 6 points
  4. 4th - 5 points
  5. 5th - 4 points
  6. 6th - 3 points
  7. 7th - 2 points
  8. 8th - 1 point

Eliminator

  1. Players taking part in an "Eliminator" must play each other over 1 game on a round robin basis.
  2. Each game is first to 5 with single alternating serves.
  3. Players play for serve as normal.
  4. 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw.
  5. The highest points scorer will be deemed the winner.
  6. In the event of a tie for one or more positions in the "Eliminator", then the following will be used (in order) to determine winner/placings:
    1. The highest number of points gained in match or matches involving tied players.
    2. The highest winning margin (i.e. goal difference) in match or matches involving tied players.
    3. The highest number of points scored (i.e. goals scored) in match or matches involving tied players.
    4. The highest winning margin (i.e. goal difference) in all "Eliminator" match or matches.
    5. The highest number of points scored (i.e. goals scored) in all "Eliminator" match or matches.
  7. In the event of a tie after an "Eliminator", then lots will be drawn for the group stages and positions will remain tied for the rest.

Disputes

The Organiser's decision in all disputes/matters will be final!
