Rules/Format
The "King of Sport" is a new annual tournament that players of Norris Green FC take part in during the close season. Players will line up against each other in different sporting events which will be agreed upon each year prior to the competition taking place. The actual number of different sports being played will also be agreed upon but time permitting, it is hoped that it will always be 5.Points in all competitions will be scored as follows:
- 1st - 10 points
- 2nd - 8 points
- 3rd - 6 points
- 4th - 5 points
- 5th - 4 points
- 6th - 3 points
- 7th - 2 points
- 8th - 1 point
Apart from events such as 10-Pin Bowling, which would be a straight aggregate scoring system over 2 games, the majority of events will be split up into "World Cup" groups. The winners and possibly runners-up (time permitting) of each group will progress to the quarter-finals and/or semi-finals and along with the final itself there will also be a 3rd place play-off. 5th place onwards will be determined either by using play-offs or by using scores from group stages.
The highest points scorer after all 5 events will be crowned "King of Sport".
In the event of a tie for 1st, 2nd and 3rd,the person with the most number of individual wins (i.e. 1st places) will be deemed the winner. Failing that, most number of 2nd places etc. working backwards until a winner can be found. If players are still tied after this, then those players shall remian tied.
The overall winner will be presented with the shield and individual trophy at the Presentation Night.
Other prizes will also be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
The shield, which is engraved with the winner's name, is handed back each year.
